Last week I happened to talk with a forest ranger and asked him about this years Walleye Run. His response "Ironic you should ask I just finished a meeting (insert 3-4 department names) and the consensus is that it will be early this year. With the warm weather and all. In fact I was just down by the river and saw 5 anglers. They must have cabin fever, or anxious."
Drove down myself since it was close and indeed several people were fishing. Have always heard they start when the water temperature get's to a certain degree and with the lack of rain/snow looks like we won't be flooded out like we were last year.
Still seems a little early but some people are starting to get lucky.
