I live in West Toledo and work downtown. Driving in, I come down Monroe to one of the numbered streets (20th, 19th, or 18th), and then to my job.
In my neighborhood, there are a number of potholes. What am I saying? In every neighborhood, it seems, there are tons of potholes. Even in a minivan, I feel like I'm off-roading.
But on these numbered streets, you can still see the old brick. I'm wondering: Would it make more sense in the long run to use this brick, which seems to have held up over many decades, than to keep repaving with blacktop, which seems to crack up after a year or two?
Anybody out there know anything about this?
