Article source for : And now, the rest of the story........

I read this today:

The former New York office for ACORN, the disbanded community activist group, is playing a key role in the self-proclaimed leaderless Occupy Wall Street movement, organizing guerrilla protest events and hiring door-to-door canvassers to collect money under the banner of various causes while spending it on protest-related activities.

**********************

Regardless of whether or not you support the "Occupy" movements, what are your thoughts on this.

If it is true:

1) Have the "Occupy" movements been quietly supported by ACORN and other similar groups the whole time in a subvert manner in order to hide the connection? If so, have the people who honestly believe the effort is non-political been used as pawns to further the cause of a movement whose real purpose is entirely different than they thought?

or

2) Are groups like ACORN jumping in after the fact and trying to assert themselves into an influential position of power within a movement that was started with pure intentions? If so, does this cheapen the movement and turn it into nothing more than a political arm for the Obama reelection effort?
